Christmas Spiced Mulled Wine
Ingredients
1 bottle red wine
1 large oranges juiced
3 sticks of cinnamon, or 1 teaspoon of powdered
1 teaspoon of nutmeg
10 cloves
2 tablespoons of Grand Marnier (more if you like it potent)
Half a lemon
1 clementine
4 cubes of candied ginger
2 pieces of candied lime
1 table spoon of sugar
Method
Put all of the ingredients except the Grand Marnier into a pot and boil until the sugar is dissolved, then leave to simmer for at least half an hour. For best results you its best to leave the flavours infusing for a while.
We boiled it up, then left it to simmer while we went to walk our dogs then a couple of hours later warmed it up again. This left the flavours infusing for just long enough to give it extra body, then we added a small amount of Grand Marnier and it Twas super delicious.
